Piano teacher in Fiveways

About me
I’m Ed – a friendly and experienced music teacher offering piano and music theory lessons in Fiveways, Brighton. I currently reside in the beautiful and creative city of Brighton. I have been conducting piano lessons for many years. In some cases my pupils have gone onto study at prestigious music colleges, including Chetham’s School of Music and Trinity College London.

In addition to teaching I am an active performer. I have released four records with my band, Phoria, and have toured across the UK, USA and Europe. I’m also an experienced session musician, touring and recording with all kinds of different musical projects.

I enjoy teaching a wide variety of music styles from baroque to rock 'n' roll, and individually tailor each lesson according to your skill and ability - whether you’re taking your first steps into music, or an experienced musician brushing up for an exam or performance.

I specialise in preparing pupils for graded performances, including the very popular ABRSM syllabus. I am very proud of my pupil's 100% pass rate in all examinations. I also specialise in teaching musical theory, ranging from teaching the basics of music notation to theory exams and A-Level Music support.

“I’ve known Ed for years having played gigs with him here and there in Brighton. Ed is an excellent pianist and teacher but he’s also kind, thoughtful and patient. He also has a wonderful teaching space and piano.”
