About me

I’ve had a passion for music for as long as I can remember. It’s like a fire that fuels itself at this stage; the more you learn, the more you want to learn and share with other people.

My roots lie in Cornwall, I’m a multi-instrumentalist and I’ve been playing the keys, drums, guitar, and bass since my early teens. During my time studying music production at BIMM Brighton, I chose to focus on, and develop my love for the piano, which I consider to be the most versatile and intuitively suitable instrument to bring an idea to life.

I love music in all of its forms and I play a range of styles whilst also composing my own music. I graduated in 2020 with a first and have since been working as a freelance musician, playing keys in a number of local bands, as well as continuing to play keys for BIMM’s house band.

One of the things I love most about playing music is its therapeutic quality. Being able to express yourself in limitless ways through sound is uniquely rewarding.

I have experience in teaching a range of learners of different ages and levels and consider myself to be approachable, patient, and understanding of sensitive needs.

Having a disabled sibling has helped me to work with musicians with learning difficulties and I am currently helping a young man with Down’s Syndrome produce an LP! My approach to teaching and learning is never to impose ideas on a student, rather to encourage that student to explore their own creativity whilst providing practical advice on how to nurture their ideas until they become a reality through correct use of style and technique
